April has been a good month for DesignBay - we've had some fantastic submissions, new briefs and have added some new technology (like the automatic watermark).
We have 4 briefs still open. The Team24 logo design job in particular needs more submissions. Only 1 or 2 logos submitted so far come close to what they're looking for so there's a good opportunity for someone to win it with a top logo design. Note that they really want logos with a Web2.0 theme (see these Web2.0 example logos and design techniques) - that is where most of the submission so far have stumbled.
Well done to Offbeat design and Red Zest Creative for their winning logo designs in the AJR Parking Services brief.
We've also had some great submissions from new members and I'd like to acknowledge and welcome some of this new talent to DesignBay:
Technology wise, this month we've added a watermark feature so any your hard work is protected. The watermark will help prevent customers or designers lifting your design without paying.
Earlier this month we suspended a designer for unethical behaviour. The designer made two breaches. The first was registering duplicate accounts on DesignBay and the second was using the commenting system to slanderise other designers. We were somewhat lenient on this designer because before this we had not indicated that this was prohibited behaviour but from this point on registering more than once is banned and we will delete your DesignBay account when we catch you. Please note that we have multiple ways to detect phantom registrations. We want to have 1 registration per designer / per studio, positive comments and constructive feedback when using the commenting system.
In our other piece of bad news the Eatingsafe.com brief did not select a favourite quote to proceed with (they require a designer that can work on site).
On the bright side we have some more open briefs in the pipeline, so stay tuned.
