Design Contest: Minions Take Over the World

In the 3rd installment of the multi-million dollar film franchise, Despicable Me, the minions stepped out from underneath their alleged master Gru, taking center-stage. The message was clear. Minions evolved for one single purpose – world domination.

Minion fever has taken over the world again. From misbehaving McDonalds' Happy Meal toys to giant inflatable minions rolling down highways in Ireland. Unsettling sightings of giant minions running amok are commonplace. We asked our virtual design studio of graphic designers to imagine if minions took over over the world and ran amok.

Take heed. And stock up on bananas. They might save your life!

If minions took over here's what it would look like:

Before long, they will return to London.

They will make themselves our idols.

They will pray to new icons.

They will fashion themselves as our new gods.

Their wrath will destroy all we hold dear.

They will be ruthless in their advance.

They will be watching over us, always.

Our cities will be their playgrounds.

They have weapons.

There will be no stopping them.

DesignCrowd contests often parody events in the news, product and brands. Whilst always tongue-in-cheek, the design submissions often reveal a different less visible reality and challenge established points of view. We call it digital mischief-making.
