The winners of the DesignBay logo brief have been released!

We've selected joint winners (and the results did not go with voting).

Congratulations to:

• Illumin8 Design (Equal 1st) for their excellent concept - a paint splat that also communicates that we are a community of designers
• Jeff from Offbeat Design (Equal 1st) for submitting 2 great logos (we will use the Corisande font you used)
• Our other place getters - Giselle for excellent use of font, Color-Crew for a very effective light bulb icon and Olivemind for what was definitely the peoples choice and perhaps the best concept submitted. 

We chose two winners because we liked the icon from one design and the font from another.  The 1st place prize of $1000 and the second place payment of $200 was combined and split between our joint winners.  I think the scenario of liking multiple will happen frequently with real clients - and in our format I think splitting the prizes is the fairest way to go about it.

There is some left over money from the total $3000.  We budgeted for 40 base payments and not all of these will be used.  We will distribute this left over budget as small 'Bonus' payments to the some of the designers who submitted great work, often received many 'Like It' votes but did not get a top 5 place.  These bonus payments will be in addition to the base payments these designers would have received anyway.

We will send emails regarding base payments and bonus payments over the weekend.  I am sorry we have not done this already.  If you don't get a base payment we'll give you some feedback to help you improve.

We're working on getting some new briefs from real clients and looking at ways to improve the voting and commenting system so you get constructive feedback and fair go!  Stay tuned.
