It might seem strange that a celebrity with the wealth to wear the world's best clothing designs and the stylists to ensure he wears them well would turn up to the Grammy Awards in a hat that seems designed for a head several times larger, no less the fedora style, which has become synonymous with hipster basement-dwellers.
But when it comes to taking the spotlight off of the music, those in showbiz ironically know how to get the job done - and Pharrell's hat was the device of choice at this year's Grammy awards. The vintage 1980s Viviene Westwood hat went viral and within in minutes the hat had its own Twitter handle @pharrell's hat. There were plenty of stunts during the 2014 Grammys event, but few were discussing the winning candidates over this hat. While Pharrell was busy selling the hat to Arby's for $44,100 and donating the proceeds to a charity for disadvantaged children, we decided to ask our designers: can you find a better spot to hang Pharrell's hat using your freelance graphic design skills?

Winner: Bren Riddle's Mount Rushmore... Goes Hipster
Where better but to put Vivienne Westwood's 'Mountain' hat but on top of a mountain?
DesignCrowd designer Bren Riddle thought the piece might look better in another era, atop some of the great early presidents of the United States. With none of them to be found these days, he chose the next best thing: Mount Rushmore, where they're all still hanging out today.
Bren told us:
"I love the great outdoors and realized that Gutzon Borglum and his son didn’t finish their project so I thought I should," said Riddle. "Mount Rushmore National Monument is now complete!"
Riddle might be happy to tell his friends that he completed a world-famous monument decades after construction was stopped, but he also won the $250 prize - not bad for having a bit of fun.
Best of the Rest
The Queen:
The shape of the Queen's face works better than Pharrell's with this hat, but sometimes she likes to add some noble bling for particularly royal occasions.

In case you missed it the hat made another appearence this week at the 2014 Academy Awards when Pharrell performed his song 'Happy' in a black version of the hat and host Ellen Degenerous used it as a prop to collect pizza money for the 'starving' celebrity audience.
