Wealthy Chinese businessman, Chen Guangbiao, made headlines in 2013, and not for the right reasons. Chen's business card went viral and it’s easy to see why:

Chen is seen as a colorful character in China's business and political worlds. The eccentric entrepreneur turned multi-millionaire is not camera shy, described as a 'publicity hound' by some observers. From selling Beijinger's fresh air in a can in response to the city's extreme pollution levels donating Chinese-made cars to Japanese car owners during a period of prickly Japanese-Sino relations and helping victims of the Sichuan earthquake victims in 2008 with cash and cranes, Chen embraces self-promotion with gusto.

Chen describes himself as "Most Prominent Philanthropist of China" and "China Earthquake Rescue Hero" many more beside. On popular Chinese social network Weibo, one blogger responded: "I’ll give you another title: Most Shameless Person in China", which suggests that despite Chen's best efforts, Chen is not universally loved in China, in a country where philanthropy is synonymous with fraud and corruption.

Nonetheless, when Chen handed out his business card in New York late last year, it caugh the (western) internet by storm.
